How to Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions

92% of people give up on their New Years resolutions each year.

Why is that?

It can be overwhelming to start at the beginning of the year and only think of the end of the year and how much you have to accomplish to achieve your goals.

We live in a “I want it now society”, and when we think of 12 months in the future it can seem like forever.

Wrapping all of our success into the outcome, and not the small wins along the way can feel heavy!

And then when we accomplish the goal, it feels great!

Until it doesn’t.

Because then we have another goal that we have to get started on, which can seem exhausting.

Now we’re right back to the beginning.

What happens if we don’t accomplish the goal?

We beat ourselves up, although we probably had so many little successes along the way, but we can forget about them because we’re so focused on the outcome.

I know a way to help you to keep your New Year’s resolutions and to have fun doing it!

The secret to success and keeping New Year’s resolutions is to fall in love with the process of what you’re about to accomplish.

Think of a road trip… It’s great to get to the destination, but you probably had a whole lot more fun on the way there. That’s the key!

Whatever it is that you’re looking to learn or experience or to grow, fall in love with it!

Get addicted to becoming the person who achieves that goal more than just the goal.

Do the things that help you grow, that make you smile, and get excited for each and every day.

Fall in love with the learning!

Once you take the pressure off of the goal and focus on the journey, enjoying the ride, the learning, the struggles, the success, even the hustle… Then the goals are just another exciting piece to the process.

They’re not the whole entire focus.

So if you think about your goals and resolutions for the year, do the things that make you happy, and enjoy the journey to getting there.

Once you make that change, you’re going to be successful for many many years into the future. And you’re gonna have a blast while you’re doing it!

I promise.
