Top Franchises for 2019

Six Franchise Industries to Pay Attention to in 2019

The Franchise industry continues to explode into 2019. Below are the fastest growing industries that we’re seeing now.

 1. Beauty and Self-Care

Self-care is the buzzword for 2019! People are realizing the importance of slowing down and taking care of themselves. So, from higher-end nail salons to eyelash extensions to weight loss, this industry is poised for rapid growth over the next few years.

2. Health & Fitness

I hear every day that “fitness is oversaturated and gyms are on every corner”. You’re right they are abundant, but they are also seeing major margin increases. Most people have multiple memberships and enjoy diversity in their fitness routines. The one-stop shop isn’t working anymore. Customers want a sense of community, variety and a great workout. The fitness industry, and especially boutique fitness which fits all of the above, is exploding right now!

3. Healthy Eating

People are becoming very aware of nutrition, what/when they are eating, and even where it comes from! There are many different dietary regimens gaining popularity including Paleo, Whole 30, Gluten Free, Keto, Vegan, and more. As the general public becomes more aware of healthy habits, they want more and better choices. We are seeing an upward tick in smoothie and juice bars, and Poke bowls. Expect to see more healthy choice food franchises arise in the industry.

4. Home Services that don’t make the Honey-Do list

The economy is strong and unemployment is low. That means most people want to enjoy their time off with their families and hobbies, not doing chores. In-home service is a steady industry which includes but is not limited to house cleaning, pest control, painting, and window treatments. These franchises are all safe industries that will continue to see profitability through the foreseeable future.

5. Spoiling our Pets

The pet industry is an $80 billion industry in the U.S. and $100 billion globally. People love their animals and will spend lots of money to make them happy. If you’re like me, you’ve looked into a stroller once or twice, and have been greeted, not by a baby, but by a pampered pooch! More than half of Millennials say that they’d rather spend money on their pets than themselves. The market is telling us what it wants and franchising is delivering.

6. Children’s Activities and Care

As dual-income households are becoming the norm, childcare has become an industry that continues to see record growth each year. Finding quality care and activities for children is of the utmost importance to parents. It is continually proven that they will spend anything needed to take care of their kids. Tutoring, nannying, activities, and specialized enrichment for children are staples of this industry.

While these are the industries to pay attention to in 2019, how do you figure out which one is best for you? Always start with your needs first, and then find the franchise that fits you. The biggest mistake that people make is making your lifestyle work around a franchise. Instead, spend time thinking about your needs, your budget, your skills, and your experience. How do you enjoy spending your time? What are your lifestyle requirements? Research the franchises that can get you where you want to go, not the opposite.
